InFamous 2
It seems once the short days of its glory are over, there’s nothing left for a console game to do than to retire to the pre-owned shelf or perhaps the bargain bin and start squeezing out lots of little sequels so that they too can partake in the beautiful cycle of videogame life. inFamous is no exception.
Although I wasn’t in the least bit surprised at the announcement of inFamous 2, it is definitely welcome. It always seems to me that games which are PS3 exclusive are visually more appealing than their cross platform counterparts, as they have the opportunity to make full use of the ‘stations significantly higher spec. I just hope that inFamous 2 uses the PlayStation 3 to its full potential and delivers something truly stunning this time.
The boys at Sucker Punch have released a new video to tantalize us (below) but the only release date they are willing to commit to at present is “2011″. I was definitely more excited about the good old fashioned games, since this years E3 seemed pretty swamped with annoying motion controller “dance around like a bell-end” motion controller games.
inFAMOUS 2 opens in Empire City as a massive explosion rips through the town signaling the birth of a new evil. Nearly escaping death by the dark entity known as “The Beast”, Cole flees the city. Upon leaving, Cole discovers that “The Beast” has destroyed Empire City and is heading down the coast annihilating everything in its path.
In an effort to stop “The Beast” from destroying mankind, Cole heads to New Marais in search of a scientist who is believed to hold the key to defeating this dark entity. As the mystery of “The Beast” unfolds, Cole must learn to harness his powers for the sake of mankind.
